Life’s Changing Seasons – What’s the Purpose? Ecclesiastes 3:7

“FACE THE PAIN, EMBRACE IT AND HEAL”

“There is a time to tear apart and a time to sew together.” Ecclesiastes 3:7

“Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful part of us.” David Richo

Boy, could this be interpreted and read into so many ways!  That’s why I’m just looking at half of this verse. “There is a time to tear apart“- there is a time to heal from “past hurts” – ie talk about them, cry about them, get angry about them with others. I know in my life I refused many times to “tear my emotions apart” as a first step to healing. When I’ve run away. distracted myself, acted like everything is ok; inside I was dying, feeling depressed and not moving forward. I felt stuck, trapped, hopeless. Have you felt this way or are feeling this way? It doesn’t have to be this way! The first step to healing is to tear apart and to “face” the pain, the hurt that has been eating at us. Many of us don’t want to look at it. We think it will be unbearable. Good news! Its not-its TEMPORARY:) “And a time to sew together“..  With God’s love and guidance, we can face it, mourn it and “sew together” our lives with our past hurts. This creates us to be beautifully authentic and compassionate people who understand “pain” others go through. Does this take time? YES. We can’t rush through the process but with God we can move forward and our future can look bright again:)

FATHER GOD – THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GIVING US A CHANCE TO HEAL FROM PAST HURTS AND MOVE FORWARD. REMIND US ITS NOT SELFISH OR UNBEARABLE (WITH YOUR GUIDANCE) TO TEAR APART AND FACE OUR PAIN. HELP US TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A PROCESS WE CHOOSE TO UNDERTAKE (UNDER YOUR CARE) TO HEAL AND BE MORE EFFECTIVE FOR YOU. THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE. AMEN.

  1. Dealing with your past hurts can bring up all sorts of emotions and can be very painful, but this is an important process if you’re stuck in the past and can’t move on with your future. It’s not easy but you have to deal with what’s going on.

I understand about praying etc but sometimes people need someone who they trust to sit and speak to them about their feelings and give unbiased advice with options. Tear and Share, I say.

    • I totally agree that prayer alone doesn’t solve past hurts that having someone to confide in is wise just as spirituality, belief in a Higher Power, etc in dealing with trauma. Being in the mental health field for many years, there are some schools of thought that leave spirituality out of the equation all together. My opinion, and its that alone, if you can have both, you are on the right road. Thanks for your comment: RPD:)
